EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Matt Webster tied his career high with 24 points and went 14-of-14 from the line as Evansville rallied in the second half to beat Marshall 91-81 Friday.
Freshman Jason Holsinger contributed 19 points, including 4-of-5 on 3-pointers, in his college debut. Bradley Strickland scored 13 for the Purple Aces (1-0).
Webster, a junior, also grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Travis Aikens had 22, and Joe Miles scored 19 to pace Marshall, which led 36-33 at the half. Chris Ross added 13 for the Thundering Herd (0-1).

Marshall came no closer than seven points during the last two minutes, and the Aces sealed the game in the final 30 seconds on a pair of free throws by Holsinger.
