SAN DIEGO, Calif - The Thundering Herd women's tennis team concludes play on its Spring Break trip in Southern California with a 10 a.m. match against the No. 54 ranked University of San Diego Toreros.
Marshall will face its second ranked opponent of the trip after knocking off No. 73 ranked Washington State Cougars of the PAC-10 on Friday, 5-2. The Herd (7-5) has now faced eight ranked opponents in its first 12 matches during the team's toughest schedule in history.
San Diego enters the match with a 5-6 record on the season following a 5-2 loss to Washington State on Thursday. Marshall and USD have never met on the courts before.
The Thundering Herd spent its off day, Saturday, in Southern California with a morning practice and then headed to the world famous San Diego Zoo for some sightseeing.
The Herd will spend the rest of the day Sunday following the match with San Diego by taking in the sights before flying home late Sunday night. Marshall will return to action next weekend when it starts Mid-American Conference play against Western Michigan and Northern Illinois in Kalamazoo, Mich and DeKalb, Ill., respectively.
