TOLEDO, Ohio - For the third straight match, the Marshall Thundering Herd tennis team downed a Mid-American Conference opponent 7-0 Saturday afternoon. This time it was the Toledo Rockets taking the loss against the Herd.

Marshall (10-7, 3-1 MAC) outmatched the Rockets (8-8, 1-3) from the onset. The Herd cruised through all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead in the match and continued the onslaught in singles, taking straight set victories on all six courts.

In doubles, Joelle Good (Zurich, Switzerland) and Danielle Hock (Wigan, England) picked up an 8-2 win over Viviana Rivero and Myriam Cueva. With local television cameras rolling on court two, All-American Ashley Kroh (Louisville, Ky.) and Jeanne Schwartz (West Palm Beach, Fla.) cruised to an 8-0 win for the second straight day. Lille Nzudie (Duoala, Cameroon) and Shannon Brown (Overland Park, Kan.) wrapped up the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win from the No. 3 position.

The Herd then continued to roll with no problem up and down the lineup. Freshmen Schwartz and Brown dominated for 6-0, 6-0 wins at No.5 and 6, respectively. Hock defeated Dani Moran 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4, while Good went on to a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 over Sarah Horning.

At No. 2, the match was televised for a local cable station in Toledo and Nzudie put on an impressive display for the Herd as she powered to a 6-1, 6-1 result over Viviana Rivero.

A day after knocking off defending MAC Player of the Year Victoria Domina of Eastern Michigan, Kroh closed out the match with her tenth straight win, a 6-2, 6-1 effort against Myriam Cueva at No. 1.

With the win, Marshall is now 11-0 against the Rockets since joining the MAC. The Herd will travel to Virginia Tech for its next match on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. against the Hokies. Marshall will be in MAC action again Friday when it plays host to Miami (Ohio). The Thundering Herd hasn't played a home match since Feb. 27 against Penn State.
