Marshall's Hawkins to Play in 60th Hula Bowl

Huntington, W.Va. - Marshall University senior cornerback Chris Hawkins will take part in the 60th Hula Bowl Saturday.

Hawkins, a native of Kinston, N.C., earned second team All-Conference USA honors this season after recording 28 tackles (17 solo stops) and a team-best seven pass breakups. The Thundering Herd standout also recorded 14 kick returns for 276 yards in 2005.

Hawkins has been added to the East team roster and will play for head coach Tommy Tuberville of Auburn University against the West team and head coach Tyrone Willingham of the University of Washington.

The Hula Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EST and the game will be nationally-televised by ESPN.
