IRVING, Texas - Kelly-Anne Billingy was honored as this week's Conference USA Volleyball Player of the Week after leading Marshall to a 2-0 weekend with sweeps over Houston and Rice, the conference office announced on Monday. Billingy has now been named the conference player of the week three times in 2006.

Billingy totaled 39 kills last weekend and hit .349 as Marshall swept both Houston and Rice to move into second place in the league standings. Billingy's 39 kills led to an average of 6.5 kills per game, higher than her NCAA leading 6.4 kills per game average. In her 22-kill performance over Rice she averaged 7.33 kills per game. The junior's four service aces against Houston was her third-highest single match total of the season. Her .349 attack percentage for the weekend exceeded her .332 season average. The native of Trinidad chipped in with 13 digs, good for a 2.17 per game average and totaled 45 points (7.50 points per game). The pair of wins propelled Marshall into second place in the C-USA standings.

The Herd will be back in action this weekend against UCF on Friday, Oct. 27, and against Southern Miss on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Cam Henderson Center.
