CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. - The Jacksonville Dolphins lead the El Diablo Intercollegiate after the first day of competition with a two-round total of 578, twenty strokes better than second-place Charleston Southern, who fired a 598. The Dolphins' Duncan Stewart leads the individual portion of the tournament with a six-under, 138 (70-68).
The host Thundering Herd is in 7th place after the first two rounds with a total of 610, with junior Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) leading the Marshall charge. Warren is in third place overall after posting a one-under, 143 (74-69). Other Marshall scorers were Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.), who scored a 150 (77-73, T-17), Jonathan Pepe (McKeesport, Pa.), who posted a 158 (78-80, T-58), Chris Tipper (Parkersburg, W.Va.), who carded a 159 (83-76, T-63), and Brandon Katzeff (Uniontown, Pa.), who scored a 164 (82-82, T-97). Andy Foster (Vinton, Va.) and Nathan Kinker (Barboursville, W.Va.) both played as individuals and carded a 165 (78-87, T-99) and 169 (86-83, 107), respectively.
The final 18 holes concludes Sunday morning with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
