Herd Women's Soccer Opens Fall Play Friday Night

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Marshall head coach Chris Kane gets to see his team in action for the first time of the season on Friday at 7 p.m. against Ohio University at Sam Hood Field. The match marks the second consecutive year the Thundering Herd and Bobcats have met in exhibition play.
During the off-season Marshall was recognized by SoccerBuzz magazine for having the 17th best recruiting class in the Great Lakes Region for 2006 and also included the Herd's two international recruits in the top 25 of international recruits.
Ohio, members of the Mid-American Conference, finished the 2005 season with an overall record of 3-14-0 and conference record of 1-10-0.
The match marks the first of two exhibition matches Marshall will play this season. On Sunday at 7 p.m., Marshall will play the University of Charleston in Charleston, W.Va. The match was originally scheduled for 1 p.m.
