IRVING, Texas - College Sports Television will once again bring fans the top women's collegiate volleyball action in 2006 with a comprehensive schedule of programming featuring four Conference USA match-ups. The network today announced the fall 2006 NCAA Women's Volleyball schedule for the network.
The first C-USA regular season contest will feature the Cam Henderson Center on the campus of Marshall University as the Thundering Herd hosts Tulane at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. The Herd will also have its 7 p.m., Oct. 20 match against the Houston Cougars, broadcast on the network at 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Marshall head coach Mitch Jacobs said he is extremely excited about a national audience to tuning in and watching the defending C-USA Champions.
"How exciting is it to be in Conference USA where we are able to receive national television exposure like this?" he said. "It's just so exciting for Marshall to be in C-USA. We just want to be able to perform admirably and it speaks of how far our program has come."
Jason Knapp and Chris McGee will alternate handling play-by-play duties, while Olympic Bronze Medalist Holly McPeak and Tammy Blackburn provide expert analysis. Veteran broadcaster Anne Marie Anderson will also serve as both play-by-play and analyst throughout the season. For the second consecutive year, the C-USA Championship match will be aired live on CSTV from Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston beginning at 6:00 p.m.
