BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. - Penn State claimed the 38th Annual Marshall Invitational Saturday by 12 strokes after posting a three-under, 565 (285-280) at the Guyan Golf and Country Club in Barboursville. The event was called after 36 holes because of a late start on Saturday because of snowy conditions.
Most teams had three holes left of their second rounds after snow postponed play on Friday evening, and all finished their second rounds on Saturday around 1 p.m.
The Nittany Lions won by 12 strokes over Ball State and Marquette, who each finished at 577. The host Thundering Herd finished in 10th place out of 16 teams with a 591 (290-301).
Penn State's Robert Rohanna won medalist honors with a five-under, 137 (69-68). He won by a stroke over teammate Kevn Foley and Marquette's Mike Van Sickle, who finished at 138.
