Women's Tennis Sweeps Pittsburgh, Louisville

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. - The Thundering Herd women's tennis team swept a pair of matches today against Pittsburgh and Louisville at the Huntington Tennis Center. Marshall knocked off Pittsburgh, 5-2, and defeated Louisville, 7-0, to close out the home portion of its schedule.

Sophomore Kellie Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won twice on Saturday, giving her 35 wins in the 2007 season, a single-season record for Marshall tennis. The previous record was set by Anna Matina in 2000.

Marshall defeated Pittsburgh, 5-2, in the morning match, and Louisville, 7-0, in the evening match.
