Football Finalizes 2008 and 2009 Non-Conference Schedules

HUNTINGTON - Marshall University has announced its non-conference football schedule for both 2008 and 2009, Friday.

The Thundering Herd will open the 2008 season at home against Illinois State on August 30, before traveling to Big 10 power Wisconsin on Sept. 6. Marshall follows the trip to Madison with a visit to West Virginia on Sept. 13, before closing out the non-conference portion of its schedule by hosting Big East member Cincinnati on Oct. 4.

Marshall will open the 2009 season on Sept. 5 by hosting Southern Illinois. The Herd will travel to ACC power Virginia Tech on Sept. 12 and host Mid-American Conference member Bowling Green on Sept. 26, before facing West Virginia on Oct. 3. The location of the WVU game is to be determined.

All dates are subject to change and times are still to be determined.
