Marshall Closes Indoor Season at C-USA Championship

HOUSTON, Texas - The Marshall University women's track team will wrap up the 2008 indoor season at the Conference USA Indoor Championships hosted by Houston this weekend.

During the 2008 indoor season, senior Rachel Blankenship (Hurricane, W.Va.) has set three marks in the school indoor record for the shot put event. Her best mark came at the Virginia Tech Challenge with a throw of 47 feet and seven and ¼ inches. Blankenship also won the shot put at the Tiger Invitational.

Sophomore Andrea Jackson (Sumter, S.C.) has also been busy rewriting the record book in the triple jump event. Her leap came in at 40 feet and ½ an inch.
