Bradshaw Leads All Rushers in Super Bowl

Glendale, Arizona - It was one against four as far as Marshall football products went in Super Bowl XLII, but the youngest of Marshall's representatives - 20-year-old rookie running back Ahmad Bradshaw - who helped the New York Giants stun the previously unbeaten New England Patriots, 17-14, on Sunday to capture a Super Bowl championship in his first season as a pro.
Bradshaw, a native of Bluefield, Va., rushed for a game-high 45 yards and added one catch for three yards in helping his Giants deny the Patriots of a perfect season and a fourth Super Bowl title this decade.
Bradshaw declared early for the NFL Draft following an outstanding junior season at Marshall in 2007 when he led the Herd and Conference USA in rushing en route to earning first team all conference honors.
Sunday's matchup pitted Bradshaw against former Herd standout and current New England Patriots Troy Brown, Randy Moss, Chris Hanson and Jason Rader. Moss had five catches for 62 yards and a touchdown in the contest that came with 2:42 to go in the game that gave New England a 14-10 lead that it could not hold. Hanson punted four times for an average of 32.5 yards per punt with a long of 49 yards. Brown, a three-time Super Bowl Champion, did not see action and Rader, a member of the Patriots practice squad, did not play.
