Women's Track Visits the Big Apple

NEW YORK CITY, New York - The Marshall University women's track team will take a handful of athletes to compete in the 8th annual New Balance Invitational in New York City this weekend.

The list of athletes includes senior Rachel Blankenship (Hurricane, W.Va.) who set a school indoor record last week in shot put event at the Akron Open (46 feet and ¾ inches).

Junior LaTricia Jones (Spartanburg, S.C.) will also be competing in New York. Jones is enjoying a great indoor season, registering six top ten finishes in the shot put and weight throw events.

The New Balance Invitational will be hosted at The Armory Track and Field Center. Competition is set to begin Friday at 11:30 a.m. and Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
