SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Marshall University's women's tennis team was recognized with four Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete honors, as announced by the governing body of collegiate tennis. The Thundering Herd athletes joined 32 other Conference USA players.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letterwinner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).

Marshall's senior Jessica Keener (Reston, Va.), junior Thaddea Lock (Bristol, England), sophomores Isabell Raich (Klaus, Austria) and Kassie Moore (Knoxville, Tenn.) were selected as 2008 ITA Scholar-Athletes.

This will be Keener's third consecutive ITA Scholar-Athlete accolade. She finished the 2008 spring season 13-7 and received the C-USA Academic Medal. She was also selected to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The 2008 honor will be Lock's second consecutive scholar-athlete awards. She ended the 2008 spring schedule 11-12 and named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Raich went 14-12 in the spring and selected to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. Moore was also named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
