Marshall Volleyball Set For Green/White Scrimmage

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University volleyball team will conducts its annual Green/White scrimmage, Wednesday, Aug. 27. First-serve is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the Cam Henderson Center.

The scrimmage will feature a pair of seniors, Jalicia Ross and Taylor Tanner, among its eight returning letterwinners. Included in the list of returners is sophomore Elizabeth Fleming, Marshall's single-season leader in assists (1,642). The 2007 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, AVCA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year, AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, and AVCA All-Midwest Region selection, was also selected to the 2008 C-USA preseason all-conference squad along with Ross.

Joining the eight returnees is a group of five freshmen, including three West Virginia natives that will look to provide an immediate impact to a team fresh-off a 23-9 overall record (15-1 C-USA), and its second C-USA regular-season championship in the last three years.

The Herd will begin its campaign at the University of Cincinnati Tournament. The Herd will face Tennessee Tech, Friday, Aug. 29 at 4:00 p.m., Wright State, Saturday, Aug. 30 at 10:00 a.m., before concluding with host Cincinnati at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31.
