HUNTINGTON -- Marshall senior Kayla Truswell came away with a pair of wins Tuesday as the Marshall swimming and diving team came up short against Ohio in a 175-125 loss.
Truswell the Herd's top competitor in the butterfly won both the 100-yard and 200-yard events. The London, Ontario native swam a 2:09 88 in the 200 and 1:00.39 in the 100.
Erin Kennedy squeaked out a win the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:02.00 and besting Ohio's Abby Corcoran by three-hundreths of a second.
After failing to win either event on the boards last week, diver Siobhan Schuurman returned to form against the Bobcats with a win in the one-meter dive. The senior scored a 207.53 to win that event and a 233.25 to finish second in the three-meter event.
Marshall will hit the road for its next meet. The Herd will square off in a three-way contest with Vanderbilt and Georgetown on Jan. 31 in Nashville. Marshall's next home meet will be on Feb. 7 against James Madison.
