HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - With four contests remaining on the regular-season schedule, tomorrow night's Marshall University men's soccer match with the Memphis Tigers has major post-season implications.

The Herd (7-5-1, 3-1-0 C-USA) is sitting in third place with nine points, just one point behind UAB and Tulsa. Memphis comes into the game with a record of 5-4-2 overall and 2-3-0 in Conference USA.

The C-USA tournament will consist of just the top four teams, as opposed to an eight team field in previous years. South Carolina is currently sitting behind Marshall in fourth place with seven points, while three teams, including Memphis, have six points.

"This is a crucial game for us," assistant coach Thomas Olivier said. "We hope to get a win and take one step closer to securing a spot in the conference tournament."

Marshall is a perfect 4-0 at Sam Hood Field this season, and has outscored its opponents 10-1. Three of the Herd's final four matches will come at home.

Wednesday night will be the fifth time the two sides have shared the pitch. The all-time series is tied at 2-2, with Marshall winning last year in Memphis by a mark of 2-1. Kickoff at Sam Hood Field is set for 7 p.m.
