Women's Golf Finishes Second in Morehead State Tri-Match

MOREHEAD, Ky.- The Marshall University Women's Golf team finished in second place behind Morehead State in Sunday afternoons Morehead State Tri-Match. As a team The Herd shot a 316, seven strokes behind the Eagles.
Sophomore Maria Battaglia (Uniontown, Pa.) led MU as she shot a 77, putting her tied for second place. Molly Ginger finished just two strokes behind Battaglia with a 79 and tied for fifth place.
Morehead State's Darlene Bognot was the individual winner shooting a 70, seven strokes ahead of the rest of the pack.
Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.) and Samantha Di Dominico (Follansbee, W.Va.) both shot an 80, while Andrea Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) rounded out the team with an 85.
Four Marshall golfers finished in the top 10, as they beat Eastern Kentucky by eight strokes.
Marshall returns to action on September 12-13 when they travel to the Lewisburg, Pa. for the Lady Bison Fall Classic.
