Men's Soccer Ready to Open the 2009 Season

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's soccer team opens the 2009 campaign Tuesday afternoon with a trip to Bowling Green for a match with the Falcons at Cochrane Field starting at 1 p.m.

This is the second consecutive year the two sides will meet. Last year MU and BGSU played to a 3-3 draw at Same Hood Field on the campus of Marshall University. The Falcons lead the all-time series 6-4-1, yet the Herd is unbeaten in the last three contests (2-0-1) and has lost just once in the past five matches (3-1-1).

After BGSU, the Thundering Herd will spend the weekend in Nashville, Tenn., participating in the Belmont Invitational. MU faces the host school on Friday night at 8:15 p.m., and then Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
