Men's Golf Closes Out at Wolverine

ANN ARBOR, Mich.- The Marshall men's golf team slated a final round 295 on Sunday to finish 14th at the Wolverine at Radrick farms, hosted by the University of Michigan.
Host Michigan clenched the title after shooting 24-under-par for a team total 840. The Herd slipped from Saturday, after being ranked ninth in the first round and 11th in the second. As a team, MU was 35-over-par (295, 293, 311: 899).
MU was led by Bennett Boyer, who had a team-best 217 to finish the tournament in 17th place. Boyer also notched a club-high 15 birdies on the weekend.
"We did not play well today," head coach Joe Feaganes said. "It wasn't a good finish, and I'm disappointed in our performance."
Other Herd results include Nathan Kerns, who finished 39th (74, 69, 80: 223), Bosten Miller who placed 69th (74, 80, 77: 231), Carson Schambach who finished 71st (78, 76, 78: 232) and Dustin Cutlip who rounded out the field at 78th (79, 87, 76: 242).
"Today was our opportunity to move up on the board and we didn't get it done," said Feaganes.
Marshall men's golf will return to action on Oct. 5th and 6th, at the Xavier Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.
