HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's soccer team hosts the Virginia Military Institution on Wednesday night in the Herd's second home match of the year. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sam Hood Field.
Marshall (3-4-1) looks to stay perfect at home on the season. MU defeated Ohio Valley University on Sept. 15th by a mark of 3-0. Junior midfielder Matt Butler (Wolverhampton, England) added a goal and an assist in the win against the Fighting Scots, marking his first collegiate goal at Marshall.
Since its last home game, the Herd has split a pair of contests, defeating the then ranked No. 22 Kentucky Wildcats 1-0 in Lexington, before dropping a contest to Xavier, 2-0 in Cincinnati.
VMI comes into Wednesday's contest with a mark of 1-6, but is coming off a 4-2 victory against Longwood University for its first win of the year. Brian Harding leads the way on offense for VMI with a goal and an assist on the season.
