The Herd Ready for Action at the Belmont Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's soccer team travels to the Nashville, Tenn., this weekend as they take part in the Belmont Invitational where they'll take on the host school, the Belmont Bruins Friday night at 8:15 p.m., and Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon.
Marshall (0-1) looks to notch its first win of the season against Belmont who opens their season with the Thundering Herd. This will be the third head-to-head match between the two sides, as each team has one once. Marshall defeated Belmont in 2000 by a score of 7-0. The Bruins returned the favor in 2007 as they beat the Herd 3-2.
Sunday pairs the Herd with the Bison of Lipscomb University. The Bison get Oral Roberts on Friday before clashing with MU in the finale of the invitational. Lipscomb is coming of a 2008 season where they posted a 10-8-3 record out of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
