Erika Duncan Awarded Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Marshall University women's soccer's Erika Duncan (Easthaven, Scotland) earned Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week honors announced by league officials on Monday.

The senior registered three goals and two assists en route to first-ever victories verse UTEP and Colorado College, to remain in contention for the sixth and final C-USA tournament berth.

Duncan gave the Thundering Herd a 1-0 lead against UTEP just 5:25 into the contest and assisted on the eventual game-winner.

Duncan wasted no time on senior day, striking for the game-winner in just the third minute, surpassing Amanda McMahon (26) as Marshall's all-time leader in goals scored. Just 6:23 later she earned her second assist of the weekend. Duncan would later add her second goal of the match.

For the weekend Duncan fired six shots, placing five of them on goal.

The Thundering Herd takes on East Carolina on Thursday night in its final match of the regular season. Marshall sits in playoff contention with only one playoff spot remaining. A Herd victory and a UAB tie or loss will results in MU's first-ever C-USA tournament appearance.
