IRVING, Texas - Michaela Kissell has been named Conference USA Female Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by league officials Tuesday afternoon.

Kissell was a perfect 4-0 on the weekend as she guided MU to two victories, one against in-state rival West Virginia, 7-0, and the other versus No. 71 Miami (OH), 6-1.

Friday night against the Mountaineers, Kissell rallied from down 7-4 in No. 1 doubles with teammate Dominika Zaprazna to win the next five games and grab a 9-7 victory. Her singles match was a straight-set win over Stephanie LaFortune, 6-2, 6-1.

On Sunday, Kissell rolled through both of her matches with an 8-1 win in doubles, and another straight set, 6-1, 6-2 triumph on court one.

This is Kissell's first ever C-USA Player of the Week honor, and marks the second-consecutive week a Marshall tennis player has been named Player of the Week. Deanna Bailey earned the honor last week.
