Ball State Cardinal Intercollegiate Results
JASPER, Ind.-- Nathan Kerns (Fr., Ironton, Ohio) finished second at the Ball State Intercollegiate Mar. 28 at the Sultan's Run Golf Course. Kerns' carded a final round 75 to register for a 54-hole tally of 218 (72-71-75). Kerns came in five shots behind Bowling Green's Matt Schneider. Kerns' performance was the best for a Herd golfer since Christian Brand tied for third at the 2007 Xavier Invitational.
As a team, the Thundering Herd shot 310 on the final day to place sixth (301-296-310-907). Evansville (889) took home the team honors.
Bosten Miller (So., Charleston, W.Va.) had two birdies and 12 pars during the final round as he recorded an 81. Miller tied for 25th overall (73-72-81-226) with Youngstown State's Joe Santisi. Aaron Boggs (R-Fr., Madison, W.Va., Scott H.S.) registered 13 pars and one birdie for a 75 during his final round. Boggs' 54-hole score of 230 resulted in a tie for 37th Christian Polling of Evansville.
Dustin Cutlip (R-Jr., Marlinton, W.Va.) and Bennett Boyer (R-Jr., Millersburg, Pa.) each registered an 80 during their final 18 holes. Cutlip had 11 pars and on birdie during final round play. Cutlip's three-day score was 238 (78-80-80). Boyer posted 12 pars during his Sunday. His three-day total stood at 239 (83-76-80).
Ryan Brookshire (R-So., Grapevine, Texas), playing as an individual, recorded 10 pars and one birdie in the final round for a 79. His 54-hole tally (82-71-79) of 232 placed him in a tie for 42nd position.
The Thundering Herd is off until the Apr. 10-11 University of Kentucky Bluegrass Invitational.
