Four Girls Head to Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet

Blacksburgh, Va. - Four Marshall University women's track & field athletes are at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet on Saturday, hosted by Virginia Tech University, for one final opportunity to qualify for NCAA Indoor Nationals.

Andrea Jackson, Vanessa Jules, LaTricia Jones and Kristin Smith will participate with other athletes from the Mid-Atlantic region with hopes of making it to New York City for nationals.

Jackson has provisionally qualified for nationals in the triple-jump but looks to earn an automatic bid with a jump of 43 feet. She set a personal best of 42-02 feet two weeks ago at the Hokie Invitational.

Jones will participate in the weight throw, while Jules competes in the high jump, and Smith in the pentathlon. Matt Schiffbauer of the men's cross country team will also participate in the meet.
