Marshall Men's Golf Announces 2010-11 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.--Marshall University men's golf coach Joe Feaganes has announced the 2010-11 Thundering Herd schedule. The season gets underway with the 41st Marshall Invitational Sept. 13-14 at Guyan Golf and Country Club. The Marshall Invitational moves to the Fall for the first time after being played in early April. The 15-team field features No. 64 Virginia Tech and No. 83 Ohio State.
Marshall will play five tournaments in the Fall followed by six tournaments in the Spring. The Spring season will conclude at the Conference USA Tournament Apr. 24-26.
"This schedule is one of the most challenging we've had in a number of years," Feaganes said. "The highlight of the schedule will be the 41st Annual Marshall Invitational, which will be played in September (13-14), as opposed to the usual dates in early April. We have an outstanding field of 15 teams headed by Ohio State and Virginia Tech, along with a number of other very competitive schools who have been competing in our tournament for quite some time."
"Each tournament presents us with an opportunity to show how much more competitive our golf team will be this year," Feaganes continued. "The field in every tournament is outstanding, so we had better be ready to play. I am confident we will be up to the challenge!"
