HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - PrepVolleyball.com recently announced the top recruiting classes in the country with the Marshall University squad ranking 29th in the nation, the highest in program history. Head coach Mitch Jacobs and his coaching staff signed seven marquee players that will contribute to the Thundering Herd team making its way back to the top of Conference USA for the 2010 season.
"It's great that our class is so highly regarded by the national media and I'm very excited for the fall when we get to integrate them into our program," Jacobs said. "The greatest part of this class is that none of the players fill the exact same role. Each brings a different style to their positions and can all have major impact for our program throughout their time here for The Herd.
However, with that said, let's keep in mind that it is upper classmen that are usually the backbone to championship teams and we have a very talented group returning."
Last season, Marshall finished 22-9 overall and 10-6 in league play and is the only C-USA school named to this honorary list in 2010. The recruiting class rankings for PrepVolleyball.com are compiled by a network of 120+ volleyball coaches from across the country.
