Volleyball's Green & White Match Set for Sunday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University volleyball team will play its annual Green & White match on Sunday, August 22 at 3 p.m. inside the Cam Henderson Center.

Fans will have the opportunity to see the 2010 edition of the MU volleyball squad compete under ninth-year head coach Mitch Jacobs. After posting a 22-9 (10-6 Conference USA) record last season, the Herd will look to capture its third C-USA Championship in six years.

The MU roster features 15 student-athletes, eight returners and seven newcomers. Seniors Elizabeth Fleming and Elizabeth Herman should be major contributors in their final season in Huntington.

The Green & White match will be a chance for the Herd to tune up before heading west to compete in the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., from Aug. 27-28. MU will compete against the Fightin' Irish, Cal Poly and Arizona in the season-opening tournament.
