ORLANDO, Fla.- Marshall University's Megan Tabler (Asland, Ky.) notched her second goal of the season but two second half goals gave No. 23 UCF a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon's Conference USA women's soccer game at the UCF Soccer Complex.

With the loss the Herd falls to 3-4-2 (1-1 C-USA), dropping three of its last four. While the Knights start C-USA action at 2-0 and sit at 7-2-1 on the season.

MU struck first, scoring in the 14th minute. A one-touch pass from Meghan Wetzel (Aiken, S.C.) to Erika Duncan (Easthaven, Scotland) found Tabler who finished from 30 yards out to put the Thundering Herd on top 1-0.

UCF continued to be aggressive offensively but the Herd would enjoy its lead going into halftime.

A Marshall foul, one of 10 on the night for the Herd, resulted in a Christina Petrucco free kick that found teammate Amanda Martorana to tie the game at one.

Just 3:14 later the Knight's Marissa Diggs connected off a loose ball from a corner kick to earn the victory. Katie Jackson and Katie Blonsky combined for assist on the play.

For only the second time all season, the Thundering Herd was out shot 20-7 by UCF.

Goalkeeper Lexa Hughes (Everett, Wash.) registered six saves on the afternoon.

MU returns to home for its C-USA season-home-opener on Friday, Oct. 1 against Tulsa. Kick off is set for 7 p.m., at Sam Hood Field.
