Men's Soccer Welcomes Shawnee State on Wednesday Night

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's soccer team looks to snap its two game skid as the Thundering Herd takes the pitch Wednesday night against Shawnee State at Sam Hood Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Herd (5-2-2, 1-1-0 C-USA) is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to Conference USA foe UCF last Sunday. Five of the nine Herd's matches have gone to overtime this season.

Shawnee State, NAIA affiliates and members of the Mid-South Conference, enters Wednesday's contest with an overall record of 6-2. The Bears have a 2-1 conference record and currently boast the Offensive and Defensive Conference Players of the Week in Luke Purpero and Kevin Fischer.

This is the first ever meeting between the Herd and the Bears. Sitting at 399 career wins, MU head coach Bob Gray looks to become the 14th head coach in Division I history to reach 400 wins.
