Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Pinehurst Intercollegiate

Pinehurst, N.C. - Marshall University's men's golf team finished tied for 10th place overall at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate with a three round total of 902. UNC-Wilmington captured the team championship with an 873, while Virginia Tech finished second at 879. Penn State and VCU tied for third with a three day total of 882.

Marshall's Bosten Miller finished tied for sixth overall. The junior from Charleston shot a one-over-par 72 on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 216 (+3).

Josh Brock of UNC-Wilmington shared medalist honors with VCU's Matt Ball with a three-round total score of 212. Brock used back-to-back rounds of 69, while Ball carded an impressive 66 (-5) in the third round to force the tie.

The Thundering Herd's Christian Brand (Sr., Charleston, W.Va.) carded a 75 on Sunday to finish the tournament with a three-round score of 225, while Brian Anania (Fr., Hurricane, W.Va.) shot a 77 on Sunday to finish with a 226 (T-39th).

Marshall's Carson Schambach (Jr., Glen Dale, W.Va.) recorded a 235 (T-66) and Nathan Kerns (So., Ironton, Ohio) a 241 (70th). Bennett Boyer (Sr., Millersburg, Pa.), who competed as an individual, posted a 251.

The Thundering Herd will return to action March 18-20 at the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
