HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University's Athletic Department is preparing for a busy weekend that includes the M-Club Golf Outing and the annual Big Green Scholarship Foundation Banquet on Friday, a new fountain ceremony to celebrate the re-birth of Marshall Football, and Saturday's annual Green & White Spring Game.

The M-Club will host a golf outing for all former Marshall letterwinners on Friday morning at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Hurricane. The golf outing is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and is intended for M-Club members only. Cart and green fees are $75 and M-Club members must RSVP with John McCoy at 304-696-3978 by Wednesday.

On Friday evening, Marshall will celebrate the "Legacy of Marshall Football" by honoring many of our former Thundering Herd Football Coaches at the annual Big Green Scholarship Foundation Banquet. Former MU coaches Bob Pruett, Jim Donnan, George Chaump, Stan Parrish, Sonny Randle, and Jack Lenqyel have all agreed to return for the special evening and will share the same stage for the first time ever. The dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena and tickets are no longer available.

For the first time, Marshall Athletics will conduct a ceremony to turn the Memorial Fountain's water back on at 11 a.m., Saturday (April 23), a few hours prior to the Green & White game, which is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. This ceremony will focus on the re-birth of the MU Football program and all football letter-winners are invited to take part. This first year will feature comments from Coach Jack Lengyel and former player Dan Canada. Former players from the 1970's, `80s, `90s and the last decade are all encouraged to attend. The intent of this event is to celebrate Marshall's commitment to continue its football program and honor all of the former players who followed after the tragedy of 1970.

The spring game will kickoff at 4 p.m. at Joan C. Edwards Stadium and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 17 & under with all proceeds going to support the MU Quarterback Club. Marshall's ticket office will also conduct a season ticket "Choose-A-Seat" day that is scheduled to begin at noon and run in conjunction with the game. Following the spring game, Marshall players and coaches will take part in a 30-minute autograph session for fans on the field. Fans are asked to bring only one item to be signed.

Parking for the spring game is being sold in advance through the Marshall Ticket Office with priority going to Big Green members. Big Green members can purchase West Lot parking passes for $20 each by calling 1-800-THE-HERD or visiting the Cam Henderson Center Ticket Office. All parking passes not purchased by Big Green members as of Wednesday (April 20) will then go on sale to the general public while spaces remain.
