Marshall Set for Season Opener at Wright State

XENIA, Ohio- The Thundering Herd men's soccer team will take to the road today, travelling north to play against the Wright State Raiders for its 2011 regular season opener.

Marshall was 0-2 in preseason play, but will look to return to winning form right on time for the start of the regular season. Since falling to Pittsburgh in the preseason finale, the Herd has been boosted by the addition of two exciting, new players in Jahvon Allison and Deshawn Forbes to the squad, and will be aided by Tom Jackson's recovery from a minor injury.

Marshall defeated Wright State 2-0 at home last season behind goals from Jordan Hilgefort and Tom Jackson, and will hope that today's match follows a similar trend. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Athletes in Action Soccer Complex, in Xenia, Ohio.
