Soccer Star Tom Jackson Named MU Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Junior forward Tom Jackson has been named the Marshall University Athlete of the Week following his goal-scoring performance in the Thundering Herd's 1-0 victory over Michigan State on Sunday afternoon.

After leading the Herd in shots through four games, Jackson scored the team's game-winning goal against the Spartans in the 33rd minute. The New Zealand native's strike was the squad's first on the season, and ended Marshall's winless/goal-less drought.

Jackson and the rest of his Herd teammates can next be seen in action this Friday, when Marshall hosts Oakland University at 7:00 p.m.
