Men's Golf Tee Off in Kentucky Invitational

Huntington, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's golf team travels to Lexington, Kentucky to face 14 other competitors in the fifth annual UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole match held at University Club of Kentucky on the Big Blue Course challenges the athletes to 36 holes Saturday, followed by 18 holes Sunday. Individuals will be tested by the par-71, 6,988-yard course throughout each round.

The first round of the tournament will begin Saturday, with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 A.M. ET with continual play until the second round is completed. Sunday's final round calls for staggered tee times off the number one and ten tees beginning at 8 A.M. ET. Tee times will be pre-assigned for rounds one and two, while Sunday's round will be based upon team standing after the initial 36 holes.

Participating teams alongside Marshall within the tournament include: Austin Peay State, Belmont, Butler, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Murray State, Tennessee at Martin, Valparaiso, Wright State, and Youngstown State.

The Herd is coming off an eighth place finish in The Marshall Invitational held at Guyan Golf and Country Club last weekend. Bosten Miller (Charleston, W.Va./Capital HS) finished two strokes behind the tournament medalist with an overall score of seven under par. MU finished with a three day total of 854, with two of those rounds being under par.
