Huntington, W.Va.- The Marshall Thundering Herd men's soccer team may be 0-2 thus far in the 2011 season, but the team has yet to play at home, where it will be looking to capture win number one when the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers sail into Sam Hood Field on Sunday night for a 7:00 p.m. showdown.

The last time these two teams met was September 20, of last year, when the Buccaneers edged the Herd 2-1 in a thrilling overtime encounter. The lone goal-scorer for Marshall that day was Jordan Hilgefort, and the senior captain will be looking to repeat that feat come Sunday night.

ETSU arrives at Sam Hood field fresh off a 1-0 victory over No. 24 ranked UNC-Greensboro last Wednesday, and coupled with a convincing 3-0 win over Presbyterian College, finds itself sitting upon an impressive 2-0 record.

For the Herd, back-to-back 0-1 losses to Wright State and Xavier, respectively, have the team sitting at 0-2 with no goals scored. Defeating ETSU could provide Marshall with some much-needed early season momentum, and help get the squad back on track for 2011.

Players to watch for Marshall include junior forward Eddy Prugh, who leads the team in shots with 5, and last year's points leader, junior midfielder Tom Jackson, who is second with 4 shots of his own. ETSU is led by junior Alesi Osorio, who has a team-leading 2 goals on the season for the Buccaneers.
