LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Marshall University tennis team will square-off against the University of Kentucky Wildcats at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex this Friday in what will be the Thundering Herd's second dual match of the season.

The No. 54 ranked Marshall squad is 1-0 following a 5-2 victory over Eastern Michigan last weekend, and will be looking to extend its winning streak with a victory over a Wildcats team that holds a 9-3 all-time series record over the Herd. Kentucky is yet to play an official regular season game this year, but spent last weekend at the Hawaii Invitational, squeezing-out victories over Kansas and Washington State.

While Kentucky as a team is unranked in the latest ITA Rankings, its doubles team of Jessica Stiles and Khristina Blajkevitch holds a No. 34 ranking that is just one spot above the Herd's No.35 ranked tandem of Dominika Zaprazna and Maria Voscekova. Working in the Herd's favor is the fact that Zaprazna, a junior, has not lost a doubles match to the Wildcats in her two-year Marshall career. When Marshall and Kentucky met last season, the Herd came away as 5-2 winners. Tomorrow's match is set to begin at noon EST in Lexington.
