Marshall Women's Golf Completes Day One

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Marshall women's golf is tied for 25th after the first day of the 2012 Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic in Charleston, S.C.

Allison Harper posted the best results for the Thundering Herd with a score of 78 (+6). The sophomore is currently tied for the no. 42 spot individually. Rachel Thompson followed closely, just one stroke behind with a 79 (+7) score.

Nine strokes behind par, Korakot Simsiriwong ended the day with a score of 81, while Caitlyn Morrone and Maria Battaglia rounded up Marshall's efforts with scores of 87 and 88, respectively.

Collectively, Marshall tallied a +37 score for the day after shooting a combined 325.

Augusta State currently leads after day one, shooting two under par collectively.
