Herd Ends Day One in Fourth Place

MURRAY, Ky. - Following day one of the Murray State NewWave Communications Classic, Marshall sits in fourth with a round one score or 333.
Freshman Korakot Simsiriwong led the Thundering Herd with a plus-9 round one score of 81. She currently ties with five other golfers at the No. 6 spot individually.
Sophomores Rachel Thompson and Allison Harper followed with a day one score of 83 (+11) and are tied for 14th in the individual tallies.
Senior Maria Battaglia and junior Caitlyn Morrone are just outside the top-25 bubble and shot an 86 (+14) and 88 (+16), respectively.
Murray State currently leads the field of eight with a day one score of 320 and has four golfers in the top-six individually.
Drury's Katrina Choate leads all golfers with a round one score of 74 (+2) and is ahead of the second place golfer by four strokes.
