Volleyball Opens Spring Exhibitions Against Alderson-Broaddus

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall volleyball looks to test its spring training production with a scrimmage against Alderson-Broaddus on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. The match will take place in Gullickson Gym.
"We are excited to have a strong program from a West Virginia conference to scrimmage," commented head coach Mitch Jacobs. "It is a perfect weekend because of the SpikeFest volleyball tournament. This Friday night coincides with SpikeFest, which brings teams from all over the region and gives them the opportunity to watch a collegiate match. We are excited to be back in Gullickson Gym and hope to get a great crowd."
Alderson-Broaddus is a Division II team located in Philippi, West Virginia. The Battlers are a part of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) and are coached by Carrie Bodkins. The team finished with a 20-16 overall record in 2011, while recording a 9-2 WVIAC standing. The Battlers made it to the WVIAC championship game, but were knocked off by Wheeling Jesuit in the title match.
Be sure to come support the Thundering Herd in Gullickson Gym. The match is open to the public and will be free admission.
