PINEHURST, N.C.- The Marshall University men's golf team is travelling to Pinehurst, N.C., this weekend for a two-day, three-round tournament at the esteemed Pinehurst Country Club.
Following a Friday practice round, the action will officially commence for the Thundering Herd on Saturday morning when the team begins the first round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at 9:00 a.m. After finishing the 36-holes of the first two rounds on Saturday, the team will then return to Pinehurst No. 6 for the third and final round at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Head Coach Joe Feaganes will lead an official Marshall squad of five golfers into the intercollegiate tournament, as Bosten Miller, Brian Anania, Nathan Kerns, Tas Sipowski, and Carson Schambach look to improve upon the team's substandard showing at the Wexford Intercollegiate some three weekends ago. Sophomore Jeremy Rogers will also be making the trip, but is competing as an individual and will not count towards the Herd's total team score.
Along with Marshall, the other competing teams at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate are Ball State, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Old Dominion, Penn State, Richmond, VCU, Virginia Tech, and Villanova.
The Pinehurst No.6 will play as a Par 71, 6990-yard course for the tournament, and live scoring for all 54-holes can be viewed on golfstat.com.
