Volleyball Takes Out Ole Miss in KIVA Collegiate Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Marshall volleyball traveled to the Ohio Valley Volleyball Center in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday to put spring training to the test in the KIVA Collegiate Invitational. The Thundering Herd faced Xavier and Ole Miss during the one day event.

The Herd began the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Xavier, but turned things around and knocked off Ole Miss 2-1 in the afternoon. Both matches were a three set format.

"We competed well in both matches," said head coach Mitch Jacobs. "We played two outstanding teams and are starting to really come together."

Also competing in the event was a multitude of NCAA teams including Louisville, Morehead State, Tennessee Martin, Lipscomb, Western Kentucky, Indiana, Samford, Cincinnati, and Tennessee Tech.

Marshall volleyball will continue spring training with an exhibition match against Ohio in Gullickson Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. The competition will be open to the public.
