Herd Golf Readies for C-USA Championships

TEXARKANA, Ark.- A coaching career that has spanned over 40 years will come to an end on Tuesday after the Marshall University men's golf team concludes the Conference USA Championships at the Texarkana Country Club.
Thundering Herd head coach Joe Feaganes will lead Marshall into the final tournament of his storied career and the 2011-12 season as the team heads west for a three day tournament against its conference rivals. Following a Saturday practice session, play will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday with the first round, continue through Monday, and conclude on Tuesday with the final round of 18 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Senior co-captain and recently-named C-USA All-Academic Team member Bosten Miller will lead Marshall into the tournament, as sophomore Brian Anania, junior Nathan Kerns, sophomore Jeremy Rogers, and freshman Tas Sipowski accompany him to the showdown. Central Florida, Rice, Tulsa, Houston, Memphis, Southern Miss, SMU, East Carolina, UAB, and UTEP will all be present at the championship event.
The Texarkana Country Club is a par-72 course on which Marshall shot a three round score of 878 at last year's C-USA Championships. The Herd finished seventh out of 11 teams last spring as UCF's score of 862 took first prize over second place Memphis by two strokes.
