Herd Soccer Set for Final Preseason Battle

CHARLESTON, W.Va.- The Marshall University men's soccer team will host the University of Pittsburgh Panthers in a 2 p.m. preseason exhibition this Saturday at the Trace Fork Soccer Complex in Charleston, W.Va. The match will be the Thundering Herd's final match of the 2012 preseason before it begins regular season play on August 24.
The Herd played Pittsburgh on the road during the 2011 preseason and fell to the Panthers in a lopsided 5-1 match. Pitt was 4-13-1 during the regular season last fall and is undefeated when squaring-off against the Herd.
So far this preseason Marshall has a draw to its name after playing to a 2-2 tie with NAIA powerhouse Rio Grande in Ohio last Wednesday. Senior Eddy Prugh and freshman Andrew Ferguson came up with the Herd goals and will be looking for more of the same on Saturday.
