HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Marshall Thundering Herd women's soccer team will host the UTEP Miners Sunday at 1 p.m. at Hurricane High School in Hurricane, W.Va.

Marshall (4-5-0, 0-1-0 C-USA) is 1-5 in the all-time series with UTEP. In the most recent meeting (2011), a converted penalty kick from the Miners in the 26th minute secured a 1-0 victory for UTEP in the teams' conference opener in El Paso.

Marshall's only victory in the series history came in 2010, when Erika Duncan tied and broke the Herd's scoring record with two goals in a 3-0 triumph at Sam Hood Field.

UTEP (7-3-0, 0-1-0 C-USA) entered Conference USA action this weekend on a three-game winning streak but fell to East Carolina 1-0 on the road Friday night. The Miners, who had scored 19 times in nine games entering its C-USA opener, were shut out for the first time this season in the loss.

Senior midfielder Tess Hall leads the Miners in goals (five), assists (six), and points (16). Junior defender Azia Nicholson, a preseason All-Conference USA team selection, has four goals and three assists.
