HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall senior forward Chelsey Maiden has been named Marshall University's student-athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 23.

Maiden scored three times in two games last week and helped lead the Thundering Herd to its first Conference USA victory - a 4-1 triumph over UTEP - on Sunday. Maiden made the most of her four shots in Sunday's win, scoring both times she put the ball on frame.

Friday's second-half loss to Colorado College saw Maiden, a Vienna, W.Va. native, put Marshall on top early in the first half via a rebounded put-away.

Maiden is tied for Marshall's scoring lead (five goals) and holds the outright lead in assists (four). Maiden ranks fifth in C-USA in scoring and third in assists.
