LEXINGTON, Va.- The Marshall University men's soccer team (2-0-1) will travel to Lexington, Va., this weekend to take part in the Jay Sculley Memorial Tournament hosted by VMI at Patchin Field.

The Thundering Herd will play two matches over the course of three days, beginning with a 1 p.m. showdown against Liberty University (1-1) on Friday, and ending with a battle against host team VMI (0-2) at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Herd is undefeated so far this season and has yet to allow a goal in three matches. Tom Jackson leads the team in the points category with two goals and an assist, while Daniel Withrow has kept a shutout in every game this fall. Tied atop the Marshall record books with 15 career shutouts, the senior goalkeeper needs just one more clean sheet to pass former Herd keeper Taly Goode as the all-time leader in career shutouts.

The Thundering Herd is 1-4 against Liberty and 15-10 against VMI in the all-time series. Before facing Marshall on Sunday, VMI will face the George Washington Colonials in a 4 p.m. match on Friday.
