Walker Named Student-Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Senior Crystal Walker broke a seven-year old school record and placed first in the long jump at the Florida State Relays to be named the Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week.
Walker's jump of 6.27 meters was slightly better than the previous school record mark held by Sikeetha Shepard-Hall who had a leap of 6.25 meters in 2006. The Dallas, Texas native now holds the school record in the long jump in both indoor and outdoor competition. Her indoor mark was 6.13 meters.
Walker's outdoor mark is currently the second-best jump in the nation.
